Dom, this composition you included captures something of the Zeitgeist, I believe. The textures are incredible. TBH I listened to it on my phone speakers; I know I have to listen with headphones...but I'm sort of ...afraid.
Thank you Su Terry, those words mean a lot. In terms of being afraid, fear not, though as someone who grew up in England, you have just given me the perfect excuse to quote Shakespeare!
Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight, and hurt not.
I really enjoyed this composition. It feels like space ambient mixed with wind chimes and a Shepard tone. It's kind of calming. Maybe I've been listening to too much ambient music. Nah.
I love the story of Pythagoras and the blacksmith too! I hadn't heard that before.
This is a very nice reply. I had not thought about the Shepard tone's similarity, and that makes sense in terms of the maths. It does kind of create messy Shepard tones.

Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears;

Oh that’s interesting that the maths turned out that way. The science behind sound and how we make music with it is fascinating.
