Great stuff! Thanks for the shoutout too, glad you liked Sophia's and Teresa's recording. (I recently saw Teresa perform the whole thing live in Berlin – it was breathtaking.)

Wonderful. I imagine it would be great to hear live!

Revisiting Shabaka’s album right now. It is breathtakingly beautiful. (Saw him live in Berlin earlier this year too – what a master of ceremony.)

It's so good - especially how the last three tracks round the album off.

The next Comet Is Coming record is going to be all doom flute? Bring it on!

I'm afraid I think it's more a case of the Comet Isn't Coming. I believe Shabaka left all his previous groups.

Ahhhh! Interesting! Well, I look forward to following his artist journey. He's absolutely one of the most intriguing voices in music today.

What a lovely post!

I am halfway through “Songs of War I Have Seen” on YouTube. I suspect it is better live because the audience becomes part of its energy.

That said, I love it. I wonder if it is because I am in the last generation to read Shakespeare.

Thanks so much for your kind words, Matt.

I am glad that I encouraged one more person to watch this work. What made the performance I attended special was that since all the performers were Spanish, they spoke English with an accent. Somehow, this added something to the internationalism of the work.

Great recommendations. I knew about some of them (Metheny, Aftab, Washington), and was marvelled by a couple of the rest (specially Shakaba & Rafael Toral). Thanks!!

Thanks Paco. I’m glad I this post helped you find Shabaka and Toral. Both albums are sublime.

Thanks for these recommendations, Dom. I would never have encountered these artists otherwise. I wonder if you've heard The Bookshop Band at all. I've been listening to their latest CD "Emerge, Return" quite a bit lately.

Hi Donald, I checked the band out. They are great. Funny you mention them, I knew Beth Porter. She was going to record some of my music, but I moved cities and it never happened! Very good musician and a lovely person.

That's amazing! I read about the in a New York Times article. I started listening to them, and I'm hooked.

Thanks Donald! I haven't heard of The Bookshop Band, but I'll have a listen.

Thank you Dom for theses listening recommendations. (I was surprised to find Sept Cordes among them.)

All these works are unknown to me except for Spectral Evolution. I am very curious to listen to them and hope to dive in soon.

Looking forward to listening…so apt for these terrible times of many horrific wars that fill our minds every minute, even if at a distance. Thank you Dom.

Thanks Anita, I especially recommend Shabaka's for this. Something is healing in the music.
