I am glad that I encouraged one more person to watch this work. What made the performance I attended special was that since all the performers were Spanish, they spoke English with an accent. Somehow, this added something to the internationalism of the work.

Hi Donald, I checked the band out. They are great. Funny you mention them, I knew Beth Porter. She was going to record some of my music, but I moved cities and it never happened! Very good musician and a lovely person.

Revisiting Shabaka’s album right now. It is breathtakingly beautiful. (Saw him live in Berlin earlier this year too – what a master of ceremony.)
